Me and Julie

Let me tell you about the night I met Julie.
It had been raining all evening, and the soft sound against the windows made the apartment feel completely private. Julie stood near the balcony, the warm light falling across her face. She turned when she heard me approach, and the look in her eyes immediately told me that something had changed between us.
I walked toward her slowly.
“You know,” she whispered, “we’ve been avoiding this for a long time.”
I smiled. “Maybe we were waiting for the right night.”
She stepped closer until there was barely any space between us. I placed my hands gently around her waist, and she rested hers against my chest. I could feel her breathing change as we looked at each other.
Then she kissed me.
The kiss was slow at first, but the hesitation soon disappeared. We held each other more tightly, completely caught up in the moment. Her fingers moved through my hair as I kissed her again, and she whispered my name softly.
The rain continued outside as we moved away from the balcony. The room seemed warmer now, filled with nothing but quiet laughter, whispered words, and the closeness between us.
Julie looked at me and smiled.
“Stay with me tonight.”
I pulled her close and kissed her forehead before answering, “I’m not going anywhere.”
We disappeared into the bedroom together, still holding each other. The rest of the night became a private moment between us—full of affection, desire, whispered promises, and the feeling that neither of us wanted the night to end.
By morning, the rain had stopped.
Julie was lying beside me, her head resting against my shoulder. She looked up at me with a sleepy smile.
“Do you regret staying?”
I smiled.
“Not for a second.”
And somehow, that quiet morning felt even more intimate than the night before.
