Booking and deposits - difficulties

I spend so much time talking with clients over SMS and it seems to not go very far.
I can spend up to two days talking with a client trying to organize a time and getting to know them enough to put together a package and experience that they want however it seems that as soon as I move into confirming my rates and then locking in their booking with a deposit I am ghosted.
This is very frustrating as I often clear my schedule in my day today routine to try to secure these bookings, cancelling plans or rearranging my schedule and then I just get aired
I understand that sending a stranger money can be scary, however I genuinely feel I get it as good practice considering how much effort I have to go through to prepare myself for the meeting.
I hope gentlemen reading can appreciate my frustration. That being said I have had many gentleman who understand the process with enough respect to follow along properly but the amount of clients I don't get to see is 10 to 1 and I just feel like we're both missing out at that point. 🥺
